  • Ge washer inner dial (timer)

    Model- Whdsr209g2w
    Timer- WH12X10358
the teeth are worn on this timer.
Can the inner dial be swapped with one from a different timer with a different part number?
This timer also feels a little stiff.
I have not taken it apart yet. I did put another knob on it, but the teeth on the knob itself seems to have broken off and won’t even reach the inner piece when I push in to reset the cycle.

Normally speaking no. That clutch and dial inside the timer could be for that part# only and would normally not work in other timers....only way it is possible if the clutch part for the knob was separate from the dial that opens and closes the contacts.

I didn’t know if each timer stem had cam like places on the for certain models or if they just moved other cams within individually modeled timers.
      Thanks for the info.
Gonna have to disassemble one that is bad to see exactly how the stem itself works.
Shame I can’t just replace the cams and contacts onto another stem.

If things where easy, everybody would be doing them

The gray one looks like it may be all one piece.....the beige one looks like it may be separate.

I think this is one I rigged with a small bolt and nut on the round dial with the arrow in it.
Kind of did this one out of curiosity. Worked fine.
Someone was in desperate need of one, so I let it go and told them if it gave them trouble to let me know. Haven’t heard back from them.
